Sarriegui Potato Chips Paprika flavoured are the only ones made with Espelette Paprika, which is a very aromatic bell pepper with a mild spicy point, recognised worldwide in "haute" cuisine (high level gourmet restaurants).
Espelette peppers were brought from Mexico and introduced in the Nive valley (France) by a Basque navigator who accompanied Christopher Columbus. Then these specialty peppers began to be planted in the Espelette region (French Basque Country) and was soon used as a condiment to preserve meat and ham.
